Günter Grass, David Gilmour, Rod Stewart, Princess Kate and Prince William, Jennifer Lopez, Jean-Michel Jarre - they were not the only ones honored with an amber gift during their visit to Gdansk - the World Capital of Amber. What did they receive?

Amber bracelet for Rod Stewart

"Rod, we give you what we have most precious, which is Gdansk amber," said Mayor Paweł Adamowicz, presenting him with an amber bracelet by Mariusz Gliwiński during the concert. The artist assured that he would "treasure this gift for the rest of his life" - apparently he kept his word, as he was also seen wearing it at later concerts.

JLo and Michelle Obama in love with amber

This is exactly how Gdansk takes care of its guests - by giving them amber gifts. Jennifer Lopez, who was giving a concert in Gdansk, also received a bracelet of small amber yellow balls, impressive in size and extremely elegant. The singer must have liked it, because soon afterwards its creator Leszek Górski received a letter from... the White House, asking him to make one for Michelle Obama. ...and another in Poland, who officially received the title from Mayor of Gdansk Paweł Adamowicz. They are: Lidia Popiel, Monika Richardson, Kayah and Irena Santor - each of them received specially designed jewelry for themselves, so that they can celebrate the artistry of Polish artists and the natural beauty of the fossilized resin with full conviction.

Kate and William - also with amber

While few may have heard of the earlier amber gifts, the one given to the Princes of Cambridge has probably been heard of by everyone. Kate received a yellow amber necklace from President Pawel Adamowicz, while William received cufflinks with cherry amber made by S&A Jewellery Design. In addition to these official gifts, they also received an unofficial one from Gdansk lovers expressing pro-British sympathies - a statuette of the Gdansk Winds of Freedom.
